In 2013, I started Taylored Content to present myself as a premium content writer and began to specialize in fintech projects. Prior to that, I had worked as chief operations officer and chief content producer for a content writing service that specialized in ongoing blog content, articles, and other content marketing products. We were not a premium service. I liked to call it a wholesale content service. The idea was to sell content packages in large volume and deep discounts. What set us apart from other content services was our process. As chief content producer, I edited every piece of writing we produced, which increased our level of quality. As a result, our small business clients could get good content at a fair price. We weren’t the cheapest on the market, but at our price point, we were the best. At one point, I managed 50 commercial blogs in addition to thousands of articles each month.
Following along the same lines, I recently launched a similar blogging service specializing in cryptocurrency and blockchain content. It’s called Crypto Bloggers.
Planning a service like this requires some real thought. How do I offer a valuable service without cannibalizing my primary offering? The answer is to reach out to a market that can’t afford the primary offering.
I won’t claim to be the best content marketer on the Web. But I’d bet a Litecoin or two that I’m one of the top content writers in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space. I’ve been writing online content full-time since 2006, and part-time since the mid-1990s. I’ve been working in the fintech space almost exclusively since 2015 and began working in the crypto/blockchain space in 2016. I am the editor of both Lending Times and Blockchain Times, which specialize in news curation for their respective niches. I understand the space quite well.
While I’ve written a ton of articles, some white papers, e-books, and several other content types, I’ve done way more blogging than anything else. Personally, I’ve written more than 10,000 blog posts. I’ve edited and published more than 30,000. I think that qualifies me as an expert on the form.
Blogging is a unique top-of-funnel content marketing product. White papers, case studies, special reports, and e-books offer more in-depth treatments of a subject and therefore qualify as premium content products. I like writing those. I also write blogs for a few of my premium customers. But startups have a difficult time affording my services. That’s why Crypto Bloggers was born.
Blogging is unique in that it offers companies operating within a particular niche a way to become thought leaders by publishing unique and valuable content that speaks directly to the concerns of their target audience without getting into the weeds of subject matter. Blog posts need not be 1,000- or 2,000-word tomes to be effective. As long as they provide valuable insight into a topic, they can be as short as 300 to 500 words. Shorter posts are more affordable for smaller companies and startups.
Another benefit is that they offer a level of search engine optimization that is essential to online marketing. Each published blog post invites the search engines back to your website to re-crawl it, and each time that happens, each new blog post is indexed providing one more opportunity to achieve a ranking in the search results. The more blog posts you have, the more opportunities you have to be found by searchers.
By hiring a service like Crypto Bloggers, startup companies and small crypto firms can still utilize content marketing to reach out and draw in members of their target audience, but they can do it more affordably. Yes, there is a catch ….
I won’t be writing the content.
My job is to manage the process. But, rest assured, I do vet my writers. I hire only the best English language craftsmen who are capable of research and can put words to the page. Secondly, I look at every word and make sure the writing is quality writing, conveys the client’s branded messaging, and uses the best and most up-to-date search engine optimization techniques. No spam.
One final benefit, in case you’re wondering: I have a no-plagiarism tolerance policy. I don’t even issue warnings. If a writer plagiarizes one time, I don’t use that writer again. Period. Your reputation and mine are too important for second chances.
With that, I give you Crypto Bloggers. Check us out. When you’re ready to start your content marketing, start small. We’ll grow with you.
